| Confidence is a very important factor for singles in
the dating world. A confident date walks and sits with good posture, comes
across relaxed, has something to contribute to conversations, is considerate
and aware of the person they’re with and gives off a positive vibe
when out on a date. A tip for better posture: Walk up to a wall and turn
around. Stand against the wall, putting your feet together and heels against
the wall. Stand up tall against the wall and push the small of your back
into the wall, tucking your tummy in. Walk around your room holding this
position. Look in the mirror. You will see a difference!
Do not feel confident? Here’s your solution – ACT! Do you
really think all of the people you see looking so confident are really
that confident? They just know how to look that way. Trust me, they are
not. They are wondering just as much as you are what you think of them,
but they know how to keep their thoughts under control and keep cool.
Sales people are good at this. To sell a product they have to look like
they are confident with themselves and what they are selling. It’s
no different for you when you’re out on a date. You are out there
showing your product (you).
I was flicking the tv channels last week and turned on a talk show about
dating. The host said it was okay to tell your date that you are nervous.
I completely disagree. For me that would be sort of cute, but also a turn
off. It tells your date that you do not feel very good about yourself
(are not confident in yourself) and that’s not how you want to be
portrayed, so remember to act. When you act this out you will actually
start to feel more confident meeting your online dates in person.
Other tips on being more confident for dating: start an exercise program
even if it’s just daily walking, make sure your 3 main meals a day
are healthy (good food makes you feel good), ladies maintain your hair,
nails & makeup (seek consultants if you’re in a rut - malls
have free consultants so no excuses!). Looking your best makes you feel
better about yourself, therefore, you will have more confidence and be
ready to meet that special person to bring into your life.
Lastly, make sure not to mistaken confidence with cockiness. Cockiness
will not help you win over your date. Instead, stay grounded and humble
and just go have fun meeting other singles!
